Positive Behavior Support- Class Incentives

Dragon Dollars
At our school, students are given Dragon Dollars for their good behavior. Students put their name on their Dragon Dollars and put them into a box in their classroom. These dollars are then taken to the Media Center and are put into a larger box. During the news, our principals or coaches pick 5 dragon dollars. Students who are announced on the news get to go to the school store. There are awesome prizes at the school store such as cameras, supplies, and toys. Students can also decide to save their dollars for "Holiday Shopping" in December or "Clear the Clutter" at the end of the year.
Tokens
Students can earn tokens for good behavior. After students have earned 10 tokens they can go to the treasure box. Students can only go to the treasure box in the morning before the news.
Pride Pins
I got this idea from another teacher. When students are caught doing something extroadinary, I will give them one of my Pride Pins to wear for the remainder of the day. They say many different things on them such as, "I made a good choice today. Ask me about it!", "Dragon of the Week", "Ask me about my writing", etc. When teachers see these students many will stop and ask them what they did! Students are excited to be able to tell everybody in the school that they made a good choice or that they did well in a certain subject.
Extra Recess
On Tuesdays, students receive extra recess if they have had a good week. Last year, our extra recess was held at the end of the day.
